Alexis McGee, the founder of a website for investors seeking to purchase foreclosed homes, is currently facing the foreclosure of her home in Fair Oaks, California.
In 1995, McGee started Foreclosures.com, a website that caters to subscribing investors who wish to purchase foreclosed homes, according to the Sacramento Bee. Since the founding of the site, McGee has reportedly established herself as an expert in the foreclosure market, writing books and offering seminars for those wishing to profit from purchasing foreclosed homes cheaply.
She has been facing financial problems of her own for two years, records show, culminating in delinquency on her mortgage payments for her Fair Oaks residence. Another property owned by McGee and her husband was headed for foreclosure, but she was able to organize a short sale of the house, according to the news source. She reportedly hopes to do the same with the Fair Oaks residence.
According to the Los Angeles Times, her website is still up and running, and she has recently posted a notice on it about the improvements in the housing market.
