Chapter 7 Filing Fee Increase Passes in House of Representatives

One of the many unfortunate impacts of the 2005 bankruptcy reform was that filing for bankruptcy protection became more expensive for consumers.

Then, just six months later, bankruptcy filing fees and administrative costs increased again.

Now, less than a year after the initial increase, the House of Representatives has approved yet another increase in bankruptcy filing fees. The increase is before the Senate now.
